Selim Zherka was born in the Bronx to an Albanian immigrant family. His parents worked tirelessly to make ends meet for their family of eight; he strongly credits them for his work ethic and sense of justice. He entered the industry at the age of 17.

A generous humanitarian, he has been an active contributor to organizations like Toys for Tots and has served as a mentor and benefactor to many young individuals from underprivileged backgrounds.
